Jerez: Pole Position for Shoya Tomizawa and Suter MMX

Suter MMX rider Shoya Tomizawa, winner of the first ever Moto2 race at Qatar, stormed to his first ever pole position in Grand Prix racing on Saturday, with a best lap time of 1.44,372 minutes.
German Stefan Bradl was second fastest Suter MMX rider in sixth place (1.44,631), followed by Jules Cluzel in 14th , Claudio Corti in 16th and Roberto Rolfo in 17th position.
“Victory at Qatar was certainly a big boost to Shoya’s confidence. He is unbelievably strong, he is fast on every single lap, and even after the small crash he had, he immediately bounced back with lap times in the 1.44’s – I take my hat off to him”, said Eskil Suter, CEO of Suter Racing.

Shoya Tomizawa
“He has a very fine and smooth riding style and he is using our standard settings which shows that our bike works well. Bradl is also very fast and confirms our good shape on this track. The other Suter MMX riders are still struggling with a few set-up details here and there, but the field is so competitive and the lap times are so close together that you lose ten positions even with the smallest of problems. Nevertheless we placed most of our bikes within the top 20 which is great.“
