Tomizawa and Simon battle it out

Suter MMX riders Shoya Tomizawa and Julian Simon thrilled the audience at the Dutch TT with a heart-stopping battle throughout the entire Moto2 race, crossing the finish line just a bike length from each other in fifth and sixth place.
Jules Cluzel, winner of the last race at Silverstone, and his French countryman Mike di Meglio ended up in a similar fight for seventh position, and also finished within an arm’s length of each other.

But even though Tomizawa defended his second place in the World Championship standings, Eskil Suter was not entirely happy with the results. „Shoya and Julian rode brilliantly, there is no doubt about it. But I am a little bit disappointed because I expected a bit more from this race, another podium finish at least“, said the founder and CEO of Suter Racing Technology. „We haven’t been fast enough on this track, but we are working flat out on improvements to our bike in order to find a better pace. I have a pretty good idea what we need to do to the bike’s geometry. I am quite confident that we can address these problems for the second part of the season and that we will be fully competitive again.“

„My compliments go to Tomizawa, Simon, Jules Cluzel and Mike di Meglio who placed four of our bikes within the top eight, but I also congratulate my fellow countryman Tom Lüthi who rode a strong and intelligent race to third place and who proves to be a serious World Championship contender.“
